  Pine Mountain Chamber of Commerce meeting on September 13, 2011, at 6:30 P.M at "27th Grill"  
   

The place is "27th Grill" and the time is 6:30 p.m.  The cost will be $12.00 (NOT INCLUDING TIP).   Choice is steak or salmon grilled. There will be several important topics to be discussed.

October 6: Cat’s Meow will host an Art Show entitled Valley of Hope – Valley Barns. Local artists Helena Meek and Pat Christian will paint and exhibit the barns of Harris County, and specifically, Pine Mountain Valley. Pine Mountain Valley was founded as a self sufficient community in 1934 under a New Deal Project. Numerous barns were constructed throughout the community and many still stand. However, time has taken an irrevocable toll on these structures. Helena and Pat aim to preserve and show the rich history of the community on canvas.
 
Valley Rescue Mission/Crossroads is now selling potted mums - $11/each.  Poinsettias will be available the week after Thanksgiving - $12/each.  Plants will be 2’-3’ tall, very full.  Churches should place their orders now.

Just because school has started, the calendar still says August and the temperature is still warm. (Ok, sometimes “hot.”)  Callaway Gardens is extending the daily operation of Robin Lake Beach through Labor Day (Monday, September 5) and weekends in September.  This includes free admission on Fabulous Fridays (except on September 2, 2011) 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring the Farmers Market, live music and drink specials.
